Due to the current situation, the format of the Board of Education Candidate Forum scheduled for Thursday evening has been changed. Rather than holding this as a public event, the candidates will share their responses to the previously posted questions during a Facebook Live event. The event is scheduled for 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday evening.

Home delivery of free breakfast and lunch is available for all children under the age of 18 in the Stockton R-1 School District while we are out of school during the Coronavirus isolation. Check our Facebook page or call the office by Wednesday, March 18th at 3:00 pm. You must sign up by the deadline so we can plan.

For all MS students absent today we have academic packets available in the MS office for parent pickup tomorrow and Thursday from 8:00am to 3:00pm. Thank you.

On advice from the Cedar County Health Department, Stockton Schools will close starting Wednesday, March 18 through March 27th. A decision will be made at that time whether to return to school or not. During this time, all activities, including practices, games, and student meetings will be canceled.

See the attached letter regarding school closure. We will be in session on Tuesday, March 17th, but close for COVID-19 from March 18-March 27th. At that time, it will be re-evaluated.

Our High School students were inspired by our Middle School students and made their own weekly video. Here is something fun to start your week! https://youtu.be/aO9RUqlKFAM

We welcomed our parents and students to a wonderful display. It’s our annual living museum and 1st grade PTO meeting.

SMS 8th graders visited the HS today to get a glimpse of their new home for the next four years. HS student ambassadors took groups on tours of the elective areas and core areas where students were able to hear from their future teachers. Mr. Postlewait introduced and discussed the A+ scholarship program requirements, and Mr. Burns conducted pre-enrollment with the students. Thanks for having us!

Congratulations to Jordan Albrecht for enlisting in the US Army!

SHS StuCo members had posters of appreciation made for the quick response by our local fire, sheriff, first responders, and ambulance departments for the fire alarm call that went out on Thursday right before the end of school. The school was evacuated as a precaution according to fire drill procedures.
