Stockton MS is proud to announce Mrs. Trish Boyles as our January Staff Member of the Month. Here are comments from fellow staff members: Trish is a hard working teacher dedicated to helping all her students excel. She is always looking for ways to improve her teaching and to help all her students have success. Trish desires to help her students, not only to succeed in the classroom, but she tries to assist her students who are in need of basic necessities. She is a driving force in the middle school, and she is the type of person who isn't afraid to jump in and get the work done. Truly, Trish is an inspiration to the entire middle school and a great addition to our team! A Poem for the “Teacher of the Month” By Lyndzie O’Keefe Her classroom is inviting. Her lessons are interactive. Her teaching practice is introspective. Her ease in the classroom seems simply instinctive; Even her Google Classroom is downright inspirational. Her opinions are pleasantly indignant. Her mentorship (and friendship) is invaluable. Her feedback is insightful. Her approaches are ingenious; Even her simple emails are instructional. Her bravery allows her to handle the insurmountable. Her passion is incendiary. Her mind is inquisitive. Her drive is insistent; Even when she feels inundated. Her desire to understand leaves her investigative. Her connections to students leaves her invested. Her longing for learning leaves her involved. Her vision for a better future is infectious; Even the notion of her absence is inconceivable. Her effort toward improvement is incomparable. Her every move is intentional. Her personality may seem introverted. Her presence in the building is indispensable; Even her venting sessions are insightful. She is Trish Boyles. And she is incredible. Indubitably. Thank you Mrs. Boyle's for all the you do for Stockton MS!

Congratulations to our January MS Students of the Month! The character word of the month for January was PROACTIVE. 5TH Grade- Kynlee Roy Kynlee is the definition of PROACTIVE. Kynlee is always THINKING. She anticipates what she needs to do to be successful every day. She doesn't wait around to be told by others what to do, instead she thinks ahead and decides what she needs to do; and she is very good at making sure her choices are good. Kynlee is an extremely self-motivated person and is always challenging herself to be better. These traits allow her to stay level headed no matter what challenge arises. 6TH Grade- Amara Leesman Amara is very proactive! She works hard to get all of her school work done early. She also is proactive around the classroom by picking up trash, flipping chairs, and putting things away without being asked. 7TH Grade - Colten Webb Colten is always looking ahead with his school work if he knows he is going to miss. If he is gone, I can count on him to ask me what he missed while he is gone. He has also been working hard to better himself in class and working very hard on his handwriting. Colten has been working on his handwriting and without having to be reminded he will get a ruler and draw lines to help him improve. When he is going to be gone he asks for his work ahead of time. His efforts are really appreciated. Colten is very proactive about his class work. If he knows he is going to be absent he goes to his teachers to try to get his work before he leaves so that it can be completed when he returns. If he is absent unexpectedly he comes to you right away to find out what he missed and what he needs to get caught up in class. 8TH Grade - Emiliano Anguiano (not pictured) Emiliano was quarantined, and he immediately began checking in to see what he needed to be doing. With no prompting, he has been consistently asking questions and completing the tasks posted in our Google Classroom. I am proud of his proactive attitude! While he was absent for several days, he emailed frequently to make sure he understood assignments and did not miss due dates. I appreciated having that kind of effort happen while he was out, instead of waiting until he returned. He was proactive because he avoided a great deal of stress and frustrations by doing what was expected.

Stockton Schools and EPCO schools in Bolivar are closed Friday January 7th. The main roads are clear but we still have some backroads that are questionable. On top of that - the bitter cold temps will make things even more questionable. Be safe and enjoy your weekend.

Congratulations to our MS December Students of the Month! The character word of the month for December was DEPENDABILITY. 5TH Grade - Jace Fisher Jace is an extremely dependable student. He uses available class time efficiently and effectively to get assignments done. When his work is finished, Jace is completing ixl or reading. I can always rely on Jace for his dependability. 6TH Grade- Grace Steward Grace is one of the most dependable students in 6th grade. She comes to school each day on time, ready to learn, and giving her best effort. Grace turns in her assignments on time, and when something needs to be done outside of class assignments, Grace is the first person that comes to mind to ask to fulfill the task. Her strengths are that she is reliable, trustworthy, and considerate to staff and peers. Her kindness and dependability make her stand out. She is a joy to have in class. 7TH Grade - Emma Schwartz Emma likes to help with the day to day activities in class. She can be counted on to help clean up and get ready for the next day. Congratulations Mrs. Nita Ankrom for being our December Middle School Staff Member of the Month. Comments from fellow staff members: Nita is the secret strength and the backbone of this school. She doesn't know it, but without her, we would be lost. Whenever I have had a bad hour/day/week, she is there to listen and sympathize just enough to get me through it, and the only one brave enough to tell me I'm just being a cranky old biddy when I am. We are truly thankful to have her around at least one more year. (Besides, she's the only one who knows how to make marshmallows!) Nita is like the "Mother Hen" of the middle school. She has many years of experience that she is willing to share with newcomers. Nita is a great listener and gives valuable advice whether it is school related or just life in general. She is a great teacher, who always develops a positive rapport with the students. We are all blessed that she has decided to stay another year! Thank you Mrs. Ankrom for all that you do!
