Stockton Schools and EPCO schools in Bolivar are closed Friday January 7th. The main roads are clear but we still have some backroads that are questionable. On top of that - the bitter cold temps will make things even more questionable. Be safe and enjoy your weekend.

Congratulations to our MS December Students of the Month! The character word of the month for December was DEPENDABILITY. 5TH Grade - Jace Fisher Jace is an extremely dependable student. He uses available class time efficiently and effectively to get assignments done. When his work is finished, Jace is completing ixl or reading. I can always rely on Jace for his dependability. 6TH Grade- Grace Steward Grace is one of the most dependable students in 6th grade. She comes to school each day on time, ready to learn, and giving her best effort. Grace turns in her assignments on time, and when something needs to be done outside of class assignments, Grace is the first person that comes to mind to ask to fulfill the task. Her strengths are that she is reliable, trustworthy, and considerate to staff and peers. Her kindness and dependability make her stand out. She is a joy to have in class. 7TH Grade - Emma Schwartz Emma likes to help with the day to day activities in class. She can be counted on to help clean up and get ready for the next day. I can ask this student to do anything and she is ready to help. Her willingness to help others out, if they need, is great too. Her kindness and dependability is greatly appreciated! 8TH Grade - Emily Trowbridge This girl could rule the world!!!! She is an awesome student who always gets her work done on time. She is my aid in the library and is so awesome! She does things without being asked and is so mature. I appreciate her dependability SO VERY MUCH! Emily is incredibly dependable. I can rely on her to complete tasks, be kind to others, and produce quality work.

Congratulations Mrs. Nita Ankrom for being our December Middle School Staff Member of the Month. Comments from fellow staff members: Nita is the secret strength and the backbone of this school. She doesn't know it, but without her, we would be lost. Whenever I have had a bad hour/day/week, she is there to listen and sympathize just enough to get me through it, and the only one brave enough to tell me I'm just being a cranky old biddy when I am. We are truly thankful to have her around at least one more year. (Besides, she's the only one who knows how to make marshmallows!) Nita is like the "Mother Hen" of the middle school. She has many years of experience that she is willing to share with newcomers. Nita is a great listener and gives valuable advice whether it is school related or just life in general. She is a great teacher, who always develops a positive rapport with the students. We are all blessed that she has decided to stay another year! Thank you Mrs. Ankrom for all that you do!

Congratulations to our MS Students of the Month. The character word of the month for November was TRUSTWORTHY. 5TH - Lilyan Davis Lily is a very trustworthy student. I can depend on her to follow the rules no matter the situation. She is honest even when it will cost her laps at recess. I really appreciate her responsibility and maturity. She is a great addition to the 5th grade. Lily has always proven herself to be honest and trustworthy in all situations. This is something that I greatly appreciate about her. 6TH - Jenna Black She is a light in my classes. She is honest and fair with her fellow students. Jenna is always willing to help others and has proven she can handle responsibility when asked. She is one of the most trustworthy people I know. 7TH - Vivianna Lopez Vivianna is a very responsible student. I can always count on her when she is gone to come to me to figure out what she is missing. She is very dependable in all situations, and she is such a joy to have in class. 8TH - Morgan Nikodim Morgan is just so incredibly reliable. I love how I can send her to do absolutely anything and I never have to worry if she took a side trip. She is honest, I will invariably put her down as a reliable student for my subs. This is my second year to have her in class and I so enjoy having her. She is more than deserving of this honor and being above and beyond trustworthy.

Congratulations Mrs. Carol Halley for being our MS November Staff Member of the Month. Comments from fellow staff members: Always answers my questions when I have them and is always willing to give me advice to help me better my classroom. She represents what a Stockton teacher should be. She connects with the students. She has a way of drawing them in and getting them to learn. She is tricky like that! She works with all students and comes up with very creative ways to help them understand the curriculum and what she wants from them. The students that struggle get the same attention but in different ways. She will give them activities that will allow them to be able to participate but also develop an understanding of what they need to know and how to access that information, be it book reading, writing, creating, coloring, groups and "on your own" activities. As an adult I look forward to being in her class every day and learning something new everyday. I also can see that the students enjoy her as well. She is supportive of her peers, helps when she can, and is a team player. She would not agree with me but I feel she should be recognized for all she does and how she sets and example for everyone. Thank you Mrs. Halley for all that you do at Stockton MS!
