3rd graders enjoyed a trip to the Cedar County Museum today to learn more about our local history. Mrs. Judy Nichols told stories about the first settlers in the area, early schools, and more. They also got to spend a few minutes at the park and sneak a peek at the mural in the courthouse.

Dr. Crawford helped with some reading groups this morning.

Preschoolers appreciated having a visit from Rod Barnes, Scott Morton, and veterinarian Dr. Cramer. Mr. Barnes and Mr. Morton had a great lesson on tractor safety. Dr. Cramer brought a dog and a goat and gave the kids the opportunity to listen to their heartbeats. Thank you men for sharing info about your jobs along with farm science and safety.




SHS students who attended Boys and Girls State over the summer were recognized at the American Legion luncheon on Sept 18. Students left to right are Seth Webb, Hayden Saathoff, Kassidy Dalton, Parker Fox, and Jackson Daniels.
Thanks to the local American Legion Post 230 and the Ladies Auxillary for their continued support of our high school students in enabling them to have outstanding real world experiences outside of Stockton.

Thanks to Sundae's Drive-In for supporting our high school by donating two gift certificates to Student Council to use as prizes at the beginning of the year pep assembly and mixer.

3 Tiger XC runners received top 15 honors at the Cottey College Invitational Meet on Saturday in Nevada. Pictured left to right are Colby Adams (10th), Wyatt Colgrove (9th), and Shanae Potts (14th). Congratulations and Go Tigers!

This week our kindergarteners discussed patriotism and learned how using cooperation can accomplish a lot! Together Mrs. Coyle's class created our country’s flag! Way to go K!

Over 400 students, grandparents and family members visited the elementary Tuesday evening to celebrate Grandparents Night. They got to meet teachers, get classroom tours, paint rocks, purchase used books and enjoy hotdogs and playtime on the playground. Thank you grandparents for coming and always supporting SES.




Representatives from Crowder College Upward Bound Program visited with 9th graders on Wednesday. See attached handout for Upward Bound qualifications.
