Preschoolers appreciated having a visit from Rod Barnes, Scott Morton, and veterinarian Dr. Cramer. Mr. Barnes and Mr. Morton had a great lesson on tractor safety. Dr. Cramer brought a dog and a goat and gave the kids the opportunity to listen to their heartbeats. Thank you men for sharing info about your jobs along with farm science and safety.

SHS students who attended Boys and Girls State over the summer were recognized at the American Legion luncheon on Sept 18. Students left to right are Seth Webb, Hayden Saathoff, Kassidy Dalton, Parker Fox, and Jackson Daniels. Thanks to the local American Legion Post 230 and the Ladies Auxillary for their continued support of our high school students in enabling them to have outstanding real world experiences outside of Stockton.

Over 400 students, grandparents and family members visited the elementary Tuesday evening to celebrate Grandparents Night. They got to meet teachers, get classroom tours, paint rocks, purchase used books and enjoy hotdogs and playtime on the playground. Thank you grandparents for coming and always supporting SES.

Third graders were among the many grade levels that discussed the events of September 11, 2001 today. In age appropriate slides, video, and readings, students discussed the reason it is called Patriot Day and ways we can continue to honor those that sacrifice for our freedoms.

SHS American Government students attended Jefferson City on Sept. 11. Students were able to take a tour of the Capital which included the Whispering Gallery, Secretary of State Archives Building, were treated to a pizza lunch while learning about careers and attended the veto session.
