Third graders were among the many grade levels that discussed the events of September 11, 2001 today. In age appropriate slides, video, and readings, students discussed the reason it is called Patriot Day and ways we can continue to honor those that sacrifice for our freedoms.

Mrs. Whaley's class is one of the many SES classes that has been sponsored to receive a free book each month this year. This book is paid for by parents and community members and is for the students to keep. Thank you sponsors helping them build a love for reading.

SHS American Government students attended Jefferson City on Sept. 11. Students were able to take a tour of the Capital which included the Whispering Gallery, Secretary of State Archives Building, were treated to a pizza lunch while learning about careers and attended the veto session.

Just a reminder... Tuesday Night! All doors will be open so grandparents can park in any lot. Students can take their family members to their classrooms, visit the used book sale (in the Primary bdg), paint rocks in the cafeteria, or grab a hotdog and drink on the playground!
