Eighth graders Shyanne Swift, Pierce Brogdon, Austyn Shirk, and Cale Johnson work on creating an "All About Me" poster after researching careers in tech class.

October's Stockton Middle School students of the month for the character word adventurous are 5th grade Sky-Lynn Kasco, 6th grade - Ryan Finch, 7th grade - James Flora, and 8th grade - Hailey Trowbridge.
These students received a $50 Walmart gift card courtesy of the Stockton Sertoma Club.
5TH - Sky-Lynn Kasco
Sky is a very adventurous student! She is always ready for a challenge and is not afraid to try out new ways of learning. Sky is always ready for the chance to learn something new and to help others with their fears of new things.
6TH - Ryan Finch
Ryan is the type of student who always goes out of his comfort zone to volunteer his time and in class. He is always actively seeking new challenges.
Ryan is one of those great students who is not afraid to be adventurous! He will put himself out there - into the unknown - by volunteering to do a new task, go first (when most others want to go last), share his opinion, take a chance, or accept a challenge! He is courageous, courteous, and fun to have in class.
Ryan is a fun-loving adventurous type of person. He is willing to put himself out there and try new things, volunteer to go first (when others are asking to go last), contribute his thoughts and opinions, lead a group, and take a chance and not be controlled by fear. Ryan's enthusiasm for life is contagious - it is very difficult for anyone to be around him and not feel his energy!
7TH - James Flora
James is funny and just brings a little joy everywhere he is. He works hard. He steps out there even when he is not completely comfortable and gets the job done! He is enthusiastic and prods other students along. He makes life an adventure just by constantly moving forward and encouraging others to do the same.
James is always willing to go out of his comfort zone in class. I can always count on him to volunteer to read or answer questions in class, even when no one else wants to answer.
8TH - Hailey Trowbridge
Hailey was interested in trying Cross Country this year and got a late start joining the team. Even though she was nervous about running and felt that she was too slow, she jumped in and stuck with it all season. Running can be hard, but trying something new can be even harder! Proud of her for not giving up!
