First graders enjoyed using instruments in Mrs. Stewart's music class last week.




Mrs. Hillsman and Mrs. Kiley's preschool class enjoyed learning about spiders this week. They stretched spider webs and made spider hats. They enjoyed the book Miss Spider's Tea Party with cookies and punch. Thank you high school friends from the child development class for all your help with the fun and learning!




Miss Russell's 2nd graders worked on place value using open number lines on Friday.

SHS boys XC teams finished 2nd in the varsity race and jv took 1st in the Lamar XC Invite on Oct 1. All 8 of the jv runners medaled by placing in the top 20.
In the girls race, Shanae Potts finished 13th.

A couple of third grade parents asked if they could purchase books for all of our third graders! Wow! A big box arrived today! Students were able to choose from Charlotte's Web or Frindle. Thank you for helping encourage a love of reading!

Just a reminder that lunch balances are getting pretty large. At Stockton, we want to keep providing meals for students and avoid “lunch shaming.” However, we have several accounts with well over $100 balances. If you believe you may qualify for free or reduced lunches, please return the form to your student’s office.

3rd graders enjoyed a trip to the Cedar County Museum today to learn more about our local history. Mrs. Judy Nichols told stories about the first settlers in the area, early schools, and more. They also got to spend a few minutes at the park and sneak a peek at the mural in the courthouse.
